Reading your water meter requires that Town staff enter onto your property to scan the meter pad on the exterior of your residence or business. In rare situations the Town staff may have to enter into your residence or business, easy entry is required and appreciated. Property owners are asked to keep their water meters and meter pads clear of obstructions to better accommodate the meter reading process. (Unmetered premises are charged a monthly flat rate for water consumption, based on the monthly minimum for metered premises.)

Water service may be shut off for maintenance or other purposes. If your water has been shut off, or you wish to turn off your water, please contact the Town Office at (306) 695-3344.

Water Problems

The Town of Indian Head is committed to maintaining its infrastructure. Please contact the Town Office at (306) 695-3344 if you would like to discuss any of the following:

Water Main Construction and Maintenance

Town crews maintain water and sewer systems up to the property line. If you notice a system requiring service please contact the Town Office at (306) 695-3344.

In case of an emergency, contact the office and listen to the message which contains after-hours contact information.

Surface drained storm water is drained to Sunbeam Creek or the Indian Head Golf Course. All residents are asked to control storm water on their property or drain to the street.

Water Quality

Indian Head's domestic water comes from Town owned wells in the Squirrel Hills. The water is gravity driven from the wells to the Town requiring minimal pumping.

The Town conducts an annual Water Quality and Compliance Report on the water and sewer system, as mandated by the province, to ensure our water service is safe and reliable.

Fire Hydrants

The Town of Indian Head maintains Fire Hydrants for fire suppression purposes. If a hydrant requires repair or maintenance please contact the Town Office at (306) 695-3344.

For 2026 the minimum quarterly billing for the first 9,000 Imperial gallons of water consumed is $133.29.

Each additional 1,000 gallons from 9,001 to 18,000 gallons is charged at $4.82 per 1,000 gallons, or part thereof. Consumption above 18,000 gallons is charged at $6.02 per 1,000 gallons, or part thereof.

The quarterly sewer rate for 2026 is set at $86.40. These services are billed quarterly (January 1- March 31, April 1- June 30, July 1- September 30, and October 1- December 31). Contact the Town Office for current information about water and sewer connections.

Payments for utility billings can be made by cash, cheque, debit card, online, or at your bank. When paying online please use the account number located on the bill. Call or visit the Town Office if you would like to arrange a payment plan for your utility bills.

The Town of Indian Head is now offering residents the opportunity to receive specific municipal notices as attachments in an email rather than by regular mail.

Transmitting information by e-mail has a number of risks that residents should be aware of. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

E-mail can be circulated, forwarded, and stored in numerous paper and electronic files.
E-mail can be immediately broadcast worldwide and be received by many intended and unintended recipients.
E-mail senders can easily misaddress an email.
E-mail is easier to falsify than handwritten or signed documents.
Backup copies of e-mail may exist even after the sender or the recipient has deleted their copy.
E-mail can be intercepted, altered, forwarded, or used without authorization or detection.
E-mail can be used to introduce viruses into computer systems.
E-mail can be used as evidence in court.

The Town of Indian Head will use reasonable means to protect the security and confidentiality of e-mail information sent and received. However, because of the risks outlined above, the municipality cannot guarantee the security and confidentiality of e-mail communication, and will not be liable for improper disclosure of confidential information. For this reason, the customer must consent to the use of e-mail for delivery of municipal notices.

Consent to the use of e-mail for the delivery of municipal notices includes agreement with the following:

Failure to receive an e-mailed municipal notice does not release me from my responsibility to pay any charges specified on the notice, or any penalties which may be incurred by late payment.
I will inform the Town of Indian Head of any change in my e-mail address as soon as possible, to prevent the misdirection of notices and reduce the risk of my not receiving a notice.
I may withdraw from e-mail delivery at any time. To do so I will inform the Town of Indian Head, and all notices which were previously e-mailed to me will be sent by regular mail.
