Horticulture Society Annual Garden Show
The Indian Head Horticultural Society invites town and rural residents of Indian Head to participate in our annual Home Grounds and Gardens Competition. The goal of the competition is to encourage civic pride and to recognize residents who contribute to the beautification of our community. Judging is based on design and attractiveness, variety and plant choice, tidiness, and vigour. Residents may participate in the following categories:
1. Landscaping
a) Town;
b) Country;
c) Multi-dwelling properties.
2. Vegetable Garden
3. Flower Bed(s)
4. Planters and Containers
5. Hanging Baskets
There is also an additional category for Best Newly Landscaped Yard (less than 5 years old). If you would like to enter, or have questions, please contact Kathy at 306-332-7977. You can also send a direct message to the Society on Facebook. Entries to be in by July 31st. We know that there are amazing yards, luscious vegetable gardens, gorgeous flower beds and delightful planters, containers and baskets all around our beautiful community, so please consider entering them in this friendly competition. We look forward to seeing them!
The Horticultural Society is a community group with deep-rooted history in Indian Head. It was inaugurated on November 10, 1926 (99 years ago!). Then and now, our aim is to stimulate a love of gardening in the community. The Home Grounds and Gardens Competition takes place in early August in conjunction with our annual Garden Show.
