The Town of Indian Head

On Tuesday, April 16th, Indian Head was host to a Town Hall Forum on "The State of Dutch Elm Disease in Saskatchewan".

A partnership between the Town of Indian Head and Indian Head Communities in Bloom, the goal of this evening was to make communities aware of the value of our urban forests and update them on the important issues affecting our trees.

Colin Arndt from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment, Forest Service Branch, spoke about the most recent threats to our urban forests and what municipalities and landowners can do to minimize risk. Bill Schroeder from Agroforestry Solutions provided a glimpse into new prairie-hardy cultivars that can be planted to diversify our tree stands.

For those who were unable to attend, or would like to review the information again, please see the links below for a copy of each presentation.
